South Park
South Park is an animated American television series which grew out of a short film that Trey Parker and Matt Stone created called The Spirit of Christmas. It made its debut on TV on August 13, and currently running with twelfth season. The twelfth season began airing on March 12, 2008, and the second half of season 12 premiered on October 8, 2008. The show revolves around the adventures of four boys and their friends living in the small town of South Park, Colorado.
The show is a satire on almost everything under the sun, including current events. It has parodied Michael Jackson ("The Jeffersons), Paris Hilton ("Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset”), and The Passion of the Christ ("The Passion of the Jew”) along with solemn issues like terrorism ("Cartoon Wars”), American immigration policy ("Goobacks") and gay marriage ("Follow that Egg”).
The show often gets mired in controversies for discussing taboo subjects, depiction of vulgarity and lampooning religion and cults.
