House MD

House, also known as House MD is an American medical drama which made its debut on TV on November 16, 2004. The show revolves around Dr. Gregory House, played by an English actor Hugh Laurie. An antisocial and maverick physician, House loves to solve what can be called medical puzzles. The most important for him is the life of his patient. He can go to any lengths including breaking rules and taking risks which no other doctor can even imagine to reach the root of the malady. He is a brilliant diagnostician whose team includes Dr. Eric, a neurologist, Dr. Allison Cameron, an immunologist, who has conflicting feelings about House and Dr. Robert Chase, a specialist in intensive care. An oncology specialist, Dr. Jams Wilson, is House’s best friend and helps him on a regular basis. Lisa Cuddy, House’s boss often opposes his inappropriate methods but concedes that he is the best doctor on the staff.
The show has won many nominations and awards including Golden Globe Award, Screen Actor Guild Award and Peabody award for its unorthodox depiction of the main character as “misanthropic diagnostician” and for "cases fit for a medical Sherlock Holmes," which makes ‘House’ distinct from any medical drama on the small screen. The show is presently running in fifth season.
