Burn Notice

Burn Notice is an American drama series which premiered on June 28, 2007. The title refers to the dismissal notice issued to agents or sources who are considered to have become unreliable. The story revolves around Michael Westen, a counter operative agent who receives burn notice while on a mission to Nigeria. With his operation gone awry due to inexplicable non-cooperation of his US bosses, Westen finds himself in Miami Florida, his home town with no money or resources except aid of an ex-girl friend. Consumed by the desire to know who burned him and why, Westen starts working as an unlicensed private detective and freelance spy for anyone who has money to fund his personal investigation.

The series, frequently, make use of first person narratives including stream of consciousness voice-overs to provide exposition. It combines action with a brisk sense of humor with excellent results.
